Hello Coaches, Parents and Players

At SAM we strive to provide the best possible league while staying in line with our mission of providing “superior developmental and educational soccer programs for area youth.” As the SAM Soccer league grows and the quality of our league improves we are constantly looking for ways to provide our clients with an extra advantage, and we are please to announce that we have a new opportunity that we feel does just that.

In the summer of 2018 SAM Soccer and WorldStrides (a leader in sports tours) will be offering a trip to Manchester and Newcastle, England to play against local English squads and to tour around England. SAM is extremely excited about this once in a lifetime opportunity.

This is a terrific opportunity for boys aged 2003/2004/2005 (Age 13/14/15) within the SAM league. The best players within the SAM league will be selected by SAM representatives during the tryout phase and will represent the league. The SAM team will be coached by Gary Burke, an USSF A license coach and our SAM Program Manager.

The cost is $3100 maximum for an 8-day trip with everything included (airfare, lodging, 3 meals a day, 4 games against great opposition, stadium tours,  a tour guide with the group all the time, bus travel and insurance).

Tryout dates are:

  • July 20th – 6.30pm to 8pm;
  • August 1st – 6.30pm to 8pm;
  • August 17th – 6.30pm to 8pm.

Field TBD at the Maryland SoccerPlex. Please register by CLICKING HERE - registration is free and we strongly encourage you to attend ALL three days of tryouts if possible.

****With the intention of maximizing the opportunities for the players, WorldStrides Excel has numerous opportunities to fundraiser for the trip and decrease cost for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. To view fundraising opportunities see attached****

Please note SAM does not pay for this trip, but as mentioned above there are fundraising opportunities available to help defray the costs.
